Also, action-planet Mars is nearing the end – or 29th degree – of adventurous, assertive Aries, often viewed as a possible time of sudden, last-minute efforts to accelerate or push things forward.

On This Day in History: On July 3, 1863, the Battle of Gettysburg, the largest battle ever fought on the American continent, ends in a major victory for the Union during the US Civil War.
Astrologically, that day, warrior Mars, in confident, authoritative Leo, was applying one degree to an exact square to transformative Pluto, an intense aspect often associated with a strong desire to assert one’s dominance, no matter the cost.
The protective, more patriotic-minded Cancer Sun was also sextile Pluto and trining wounded healer Chiron in Pisces.
Gettysburg is considered the “high watermark of the rebellion.” After Gettysburg, the Confederate army would never again regain its momentum.
