Cosmic Weather:

“We must bend in the wind sometimes… So much is beyond our control.” Maggie Shipstead

We start out the last day of February on a bit of a rollercoaster ride! The waning Moon in collective-governing Aquarius is forming a hard square to its modern-day ruler erratic Uranus (8:50 am), which is deposited in the money and security sign of Taurus the Bull. (Interestingly, too, on a collective level, we have all the geopolitical financial sanctions going on now against Russia and many are not sure of how all of this will play out or impact the markets.)

Moon-Uranus, on the shadow side, is often associated with mood swings, rebelliousness, restlessness, the need for excitement. That said, it can also produce sudden insights or awakenings, fluctuations on the homefront.

Luna’s passage through Aquarius also serves to reactivate the ongoing but separating Saturn-Uranus square (i.e. a clash between the old and new), with Luna’s very last planetary stop of the day: a potent conjunction with “play-by-the-rules” Saturn (9:00pm); this is an aspect that could, among other things, help to present us with an unembellished reality check, possibly resulting in our temporarily adopting more of a stoic-type attitude, as we ponder our next moves.

“Nothing, to my way of thinking, is a better proof of a well-ordered mind than a man’s ability to stop just where he is and pass some time in his own company.” – Seneca

After Luna conjuncts Saturn it will also embark upon a long void-of-course period until its entrance into Pisces, tomorrow afternoon (3:53 pm).

Meanwhile, both Venus and Mars in Capricorn are also trining the growth-oriented North Node in Taurus today, a nice aspect of ease and flow that could pleasantly manifest a robust opportunity for us to take practical and meaningful action steps towards our future and the person we wish to become.

On This Day in History: On February 28, 1953, molecular biologists Francis Crick and James Watson discover the chemical structure of the DNA-molecule (double-helix polymer).

Astrologically, that day, energizing Mars was in pioneering Aries and separating (less than one degree) from an exact square to breakthrough Uranus in Cancer, providing an abundance of creative and inventive energy. (When Steve Jobs co-founded Apple Computer, Mars in Cancer was also exactly trine to Uranus in Scorpio, the planet which rules technology.) Meanwhile, expansive Jupiter in Taurus was also just separating, on 2/28/53, from an exact sextile to Uranus. Over the years, Jupiter-Uranus aspects have been linked with various modern advances and leaps forwad including the first US spacewalk on the Moon by astronaut Neil Armstrong, on July 21, 1969, which took place when Jupiter and Uranus were exactly conjunct at 0 degrees of Libra.

In 1962, Crick and Watson, along with Maurice Wilkins would go on to win the Nobel Prize for Medicine for their work in determining the structure of DNA.

Hope it’s a good one! Please be safe and well.
