COSMIC WATCH:

The Moon’s passage through “sentimental” Cancer poises us to want to revisit our nostalgic roots. Optimally, to peruse the preceding pages of our biography with the soulful intent of extracting a few takeaway jewels that can add golden wisdom and meaning for where we are now along our current path.

Perhaps we can recall a time period, for instance, in which we were able to rise above a host of obstacles by applying determination and persistence.

Or maybe we can remember when we quit a self-sabotaging habit.

Writer Robert Brault offers this terrific insight about the past: “Looking back you realize that a very special person passed briefly through your life – and it was you. It is not too late to find that person again.”   

The “reflective” Cancer Moon also sextiles “initiator” Mars in disciplined Virgo (6:02 pm) suggesting that we are fully capable of taking actions now that build upon and support our earlier successes.

With the Moon’s stay in “sheltering” Cancer all day, the sign of our familial past, and with it also being “Mother’s Day,” we may be eager to embark upon an endearing, “sentimental journey” down memory lane. However, the Cancer Moon’s restless square formations to Venus, Mercury and Jupiter, in “new beginnings” Aries, and the stable Taurus Sun’s semi-square to “awakening” Uranus in Aries, also nudges us on to seek out “extraordinary” (Uranus) new experiences, perhaps with family members, in hopes of adding to our divine soul’s rich treasure trove of unforgettable moments.

Famous Taurus Birthdays May 8th: Toni Tenille (71), late Ricky Nelson (71). Remember, Harriet Nelson? Ricky Nelson’s mother, from The Adventures of Ozzie and Harriet? She was, perhaps, a template for the “perfect mom.” Used to love that show, and also, like other girls my age, had a huge crush on Ricky back then.
