COSMIC WATCH:
“Never do anything when you are in a temper, for you will do everything wrong.” Baltasar Gracian
Although the Moon remains in subdued Capricorn, most of the day, we may still want to arm ourselves with a few goodies from our anger management tool kit. This is because aggressor Mars, ruling our temper, opposes intense Pluto. Often a more volatile hookup that can equate with extreme behavior and more uncertainty in our environment. (Part of the Grand Cardinal Cross that I alluded to in my blog a couple days ago.)
Hopefully, though, by not forcing our will on others and avoiding boorish power struggles we should be able to weather the day intact. Too, if we organize ourselves with heightened focus and determination, we may find that we can move mountains now. Optimally, Mars-Pluto energy can be dramatically transforming and very pioneering. We can also become privy to secret or hidden information that can help us solve puzzles.
Interestingly, on the eve of this aspect there was word of possibly a huge breakthrough for the treatment of cancer, a disease which is ruled by Pluto. Today, the Los Angeles Times is reporting on that development, writing that scientists at the University of Pennyslvania have genetically altered patients’ T-cells to attack cancer cells in a common type of leukemia. Experts not connected to the research say that this feat suggests that our T-cells may be able to be modified to kill a host of other cancers. Really encouraging news. Let’s keep our fingers crossed.
“It is health that is real wealth and not pieces of gold and silver.” Mohandas Gandhi
Also, I did some homework regarding the last time we had Mars in Cancer opposite Pluto in Capricorn, which was on August 25th, 2009. On that same day, the late Democratic Senator Ted Kennedy passed away from brain cancer at the age of 77, which was a very memorable and notable event for many Americans at the time. We actually had a Cardinal T-square in the sky that day with Mercury in Libra filling out the third portion of it. Libra rules members of Congress. Pluto, too, governs death and transitions.
During his lifetime, Teddy was active in spearheading various reforms (Pluto) for his party and country, so perhaps it was fitting that he departed us under this transforming Mars-Pluto aspect, allowing us time to reflect on how he helped to reshape lives during his tenure on the planet.
“For all those whose cares have been our concern, the work goes on, the cause endures, the hope still lives, and the dream shall never die.” Ted Kennedy
Enjoy your Thursday!
