“I’d like to wear a rainbow every day, and tell the world that everything is o.k. But I’ll try to carry off a little darkness on my back. Until things are brighter, I’m the Man in Black.” Johnny Cash
The Moon is in the theatrical sign of Leo. We are more inclined to want to act out the drama of our lives on a stage before a doting audience. A reaffirming testament to ourselves that our daily efforts, trials and tribulations, are meaningful and apparent, in some way, to the rest of the world.
However, we do face somewhat of a dilemma here. How do we simultaneously integrate the energies of the Sun, Venus, Jupiter and Uranus all stationed in the more self-effacing, ego-denying sign of Pisces? A sign that is often not altogether comfortable seeking the spotlight.
The key may be to befriend Neptune, the dreamy and spiritual ruler of Pisces. He understands that none of us wants to be alone in our life journey. He knows that we all hunger for a link to something greater than ourselves. That we all need and want to feel that we are part of a larger connection. He’s also cool with granting us some measure of ego recognition, as he knows that it often helps to get us believing more in ourselves and our capabilities.
If we get a chance to today, we may want to stop and tell someone that they are doing a good job, if merited, and let them know that we appreciate all that they do for us in our lives. This is how we can help each other’s star to shine a little brighter and also, at the same time, spread around some of that golden Leo magic.
Speaking about shining: There may be another special reason for today’s Leo-Pisces lineup. The wondrous stars above may be readying us for the grand encore performance from our favorite Man in Black, Johnny Cash. Johnny was a humble Pisces, with a destiny and talent so great, that he had no choice but to take the stage. While it probably had very little to do with his ego, why he sought out the spotlight, Johnny would probably still be so heartened and flattered if we held a special warm thought about him close to our hearts today.
Today would have been Johnny’s 78th birthday. His second posthumous record is slated to be released this very day, entitled “American VI: Ain’t No Grave.”
In honor of Johnny’s memory, today has also been designated “Wear Black for Johnny Day.” How about it, too, if we put 78 candles on his cosmic birthday cake?
Happy birthday, Man in Black! We know that June is right there with you, softly whispering in your ear.
Other famous persons born on this day: Victor Hugo, Tony Randall, Jennifer Grant.
Peace and love everyone. Enjoy your day!
