Cosmic Weather:

Kind of a schizophrenic Monday:

The Venus in Capricorn square to Chiron retrograde in Aries (3:07 am) could foment some sense of inner discontent, insecurity, feelings of unworthiness with our relationships, status/position, or money situation. Also, comparing ourselves to others now can be a very prickly path that we don’t really need to embark upon. Better to set our sights on what is achievable and why we deserve to have what we want.

The transformative Sun in Scorpio and expansive Jupiter in innovative Aquarius – the two biggest heavenly bodies in our solar system – are also squaring off today (2:58 pm). Grand gestures, colossal or bigger than expected outcomes/results, gargantuan opportunities/circumstances are all possibly part of the eclectic mix now, along with, no doubt, an over-abundance of bloated egos. While it’s easier to go overboard with things now, there may very well be some reason for celebration as new ways to get ahead may emerge on the titillating horizon. Just remember: moderation is key and that more doesn’t always translate into our being merrier or more satisfied (unless, of course, it has something to do with George Clooney!) Sometimes having more of something can actually translate into greater constraints on our time or our freedom, which can end up leaving us feeling worn out or depleted. So, the bottom line here today is to know and respect our limits. Or put another way, leave something in the buffet bar for others!

Interestingly, President Biden and President Xi of China are also planning on meeting virtually today on this splashy Sun-Jupiter day. Biden is also supposed to sign his $1 trillion infrastructure package into law at a ceremony at the White House.

Born On This Day: German-born British astronomer Sir William Herschel in 1738 (d. in 1822). In his spare time, Herschel discovered the planet Uranus (the first planet discovered since antiquity), hypothesized that nebulae are composed of stars, and developed a theory of stellar evolution. He also was the founder of sidereal astronomy for the systematic observation of the stars and nebulae beyond the solar system. He was knighted in 1816. Needless to say, he set a sky-high bar for all of us!

“I have looked further into space than ever human being did before me. I have observed stars of which the light, it can be proved, must take two million years to reach the earth.”

Back down to earth, hope it’s a good one! Please be safe and well.
