“You will never feel truly satisfied by work until you are satisfied by life.” Heath Schuck, The Working Mom Manifesto

COSMIC WATCH:

A Full Moon in “maternal” Cancer tonight (11:52 pm EST) illuminates the polarity between our personal or inner world (home, family, and roots) and our public or outer life (career, duties, and ambitions), the latter signified by the opposing Sun in “paternal” Capricorn.

This nurturing Full Moon is a chance for us to get clearer on how we can successfully integrate both of these realms so that we can bring more enjoyment into our lives. Too, with the frenetic pace of daily living, it’s often easy for us to look upon life as something merely to be endured, instead of as a vehicle for self-actualization and fulfillment.

This feelings-oriented Cancerian lunation predisposes us to go within; to perform a “gut check” on ourselves, regarding where we’re at and how we got there. Feminine, protective Cancer, the sign of the womb and mother, has a very keen survival instinct and always knows what is in its best interests to do to sustain its existence. Included in the equation now may be a growing awareness of the need for administering liberal amounts of self-care to ourselves as a way to start thriving in the future. “Rest and self-care are so important. When you take time to replenish your spirit, it allows you to serve others from the overflow. You cannot serve from an empty vessel.” Eleanor Brown

This nostalgic Cancer Full Moon may also find us journeying down “memory lane” to re-connect with, or reflect upon, our familial past. In general, there may also be movement or developments in affairs pertaining to family or our home life. “For in every adult there dwells the child that was, and in every child there lies the adult that will be.” John Connolly.

This lunation may additionally be a good time to assuage or heal old wounds as we have benevolent, philosophical Jupiter retrograde conjunct the Moon and wise Saturn trining it from transformative Scorpio. The Moon and Saturn can also help us to coolly detach from our feelings and see things as they are instead of how we merely wish them to be. On another level, this trine is positive for re-organizing our domestic environment to make it more open and efficient, with Saturn injecting the minimalist or utilitarian influences.

Overall, Full Moons are a time for release, a time when we begin to empty out our chalices. We also may see matters suddenly coming to a head or climax. “You leave old habits behind by starting out with the thought ‘I release the need for this in my life’”. Wayne Dyer

What activities could you minimize now that don’t add to your sense of personal well-being or professional fulfillment? What makes you feel nurtured and protected? What comes up for your when you think of your home, your family?

Full Moon Blessings to you!
