With intellectual Mercury sextile to enigmatic Pluto (9:09 pm EST), there may be more of a fascination with what is hidden or obscured from view. This aspect usually inspires us to play detective; or to want to go deeper with our thinking – perhaps even to reveal more intimate aspects of our being to another. Mercury-Pluto aspects are linked with psychotherapy; also with spiritualism or contacting those who have crossed over.

BTW, Arthur Conan Doyle, who is referred to as “the creator of the modern detective story,” and the characters Sherlock Holmes and Doctor Watson, had his natal Mercury conjunct, Pluto.

Positive Mercury-Pluto aspects can also aid us in verbal presentations by aligning us with our deeper emotions so that we are able to speak with more authenticity and conviction.

“Open mouth, insert foot! That appears to be a likely scenario for today, due to the Moon’s lively stroll through Chatty Cathy Sagittarius, and also the Moon’s conjunction with fast talker Mercury (9:03 am EST). Sag is famous for speaking before thinking. Knowing this ahead of time, it may be wise for Sarah Palin to steer clear of Katie Couric today. Also, Vice President Joe Biden may want to pray for a sudden case of laryngitis.

Too, we may even want to go so far as tying up our tongues with rubber bands or something, when the Moon squares both bigmouth Jupiter (8:50 pm EST) and cranky Uranus (9:09 pm EST). A cautionary gesture in a bid to preserve the peace with loved ones. Additionally at this time, it would probably be very unwise to tell your significant other that they look fat in a dress.
