Pleasure-seeking Venus sextiles benevolent Jupiter today, the planet of optimism and abundance. It’s a perfect time for kicking back and doing whatever fosters a sense of joy and fulfillment. For some, this might equate to pursuing a romantic interest; experimenting with a new recipe; or, maybe attending get-togethers with family and friends. Ernest Hemingway once referred to pleasures as the “punctuation marks of life.” Isn’t that a great way to view them? He also added, however, that we don’t want to get trapped in the “festival theory of life,” inferring that “too much pleasure” can lead to boredom or atrophy of the human spirit.
