COSMIC WATCH:
Motivational coach and speaker Tony Robbins says that one trait that all highly successful people have in common is that they’re always trying to “raise their standards” – always attempting to upgrade what they bring to their game. I’m mentioning this because, overnight, the Sun shifted into “fine-tuning” Virgo (12:46 am EDT), a sign naturally oriented toward matters of self-improvement / personal development.
As the Sun journeys through resourceful Virgo, for the next thirty days, this is the best time of the year to refine our methods, raise the bar, focus on health and dietary matters, and take our skills and abilities to the next level. An archetype often associated with the sign of Virgo is that of the “apprentice” perfecting his craft.
We also have “assertive” Mars quinqunx “experimental “ Uranus today, a rather awkward aspect that was exact, very early this morning (2:32 am EDT). Whereas the organizing Virgo Sun likes to have all of its ducks in a row, this Mars-Uranus combo of free-spirited energy tends to just want to “wing it.”
Too, even though the Sun exited “playful” Leo yesterday, the Moon is still camping out there and connecting with both “expansive” Jupiter (9:47 am EDT) and “romantic” Venus (10:01 pm EDT). Hopefully, a very pleasant backdrop for partaking in some fun or leisure activities, as we attempt to decompress from the work week. By the way, ancient Greek philosopher Plato, once conjectured, that we could probably discover more about a person in an hour of play than in a year of conversation. I was thinking to myself that, perhaps, one reason that he said that was because, when we are at play, we are more apt to be spontaneous and more fully engaged in the moment; our editing or self-monitoring filters are less likely to be turned up, allowing for the revelation of more our true character and personality. It’s interesting, too, how many of us – myself included – have been conditioned, most of our lives, to believe that work is a more valuable activity than play; that play is something that is mainly to be engaged in, in our spare time – when we’re not working! I think now, though, more and more of us are finally realizing that’s not necessarily true. That while work is of value – play is, likely, of equal value.
Question for Today: What is a life you could be living?
