Cosmic Weather:
“The explanation requiring the fewest assumptions is most likely to be correct.” – William of Ockham
While assumptions often serve as shortcuts for our brains, with mental Mercury Rx squaring psychedelic Neptune in Pisces today (exact at 2:43 am) we may do best just sticking with the facts now, especially regarding decision-making – unless we perhaps have extra time on our hands to explore a plethora of rabbit holes. It is thought (or assumed, for that matter!) that Neptune’s activated ray tends to obscure issues or fogs things over, making it harder to see the true nature of what is before us. It is commonly associated with wishful or fanciful thinking.
Later this evening, Mercury Rx also conjuncts action-planet Mars in philosophical Sagittarius (exact at 7:31 pm), potentially amping up our mental energy and maybe setting the stage for rounds of lively discussions or conversations. On the shadow side, Mercury-Mars conjunctions have a reputation for being very pushy or in-your-face! It is also possible that with the Mercury Rx we are revisiting or mulling over some previous decision or action.
Also, it appears that jolly Santa, i.e. Jupiter Rx in Taurus, may be turned around a tad, directionally, by the Mercury Rx-Neptune square as he is orbiting/trining the Scroogelike Capricorn Sun today (exact at 10:28 am) instead of hanging out with Mrs. Claus at the North Pole. Whether this actually results in more goodies in our Christmas stockings now, however, remains to be seen. 🙂
Sun trine Jupiter, among other things, is often perceived as increasing our personal reserves of goodwill, generosity, and optimism – and sometimes even our quota of luck or good fortune – as Jupiter has traditionally been linked with increased prosperity or at least an easing of circumstances. We may also be more inclined now to want to grow or expand our personal world in some manner.
“I am a strong believer in luck and I find the harder I work the more I have of it.” – Ben Franklin
Born On This Day: Astronomer/astrologer Johannes Kepler, who discovered the laws of planetary motion. Kepler was born in 1571 in Weil der Stadt, Holy Roman Empire (d. 1630).
“The soul of the newly born baby is marked for life by the pattern of the stars at the moment it comes into the world, unconsciously remembers it, and remains sensitive to the return of configurations of a similar kind.” – Johannes Kepler, Harmonies of the World
Hope it’s a good one! Please be safe and well.
