Cosmic Word Of The Day: Fidgety

(Moon in Gemini. Moon square Uranus.)

Fidgety: 1) restless; impatient; uneasy 2) nervously and excessively fussy

“We’re feeling the affects of the fidgety Gemini Moon today. It’s harder to sit still. Sort of like we have ants in our pants or something. Accentuating the restlessness is the Moon’s square to herky jerky, tempermental Uranus (2:24 PM EST) which can also make us feel more defiant and rebellious.

Later, the Moon shifts into Homebody Cancer (8:14 pm EST). Suddenly, the myriad stresses of the day all seem to take a backseat to “what’s cooking on the stove.”

From morning till night, sounds drift from the kitchen, most of them familiar and comforting…On days when warmth is the most important need of the human heart, the kitchen is the place you can find it; it dries the wet sock, it cools the hot little brain.” E. B. White

Patricia’s Astrology Horoscope October 29, 2010: Dorothy In Oz

COSMIC WEATHER:

The Moon continues in “There’s No Place Like Home” Cancer making “Dorothy in Oz” one happy little munchkin. The “Cook-Happy” Cancer Moon also throws harmonious trines to “Good Witch” Jupiter (10:28 am EDT) and “Wizard” Uranus (3:49 pm EDT) in “Fantasy-Prone” Pisces, giving us an itch to perhaps add some dreamy “rainbow sherbet” to the menu, for a change of pace.

Later on, the Moon roars into “Warmhearted” Leo (8:39 pm EDT). Even the “Cowardly Lion” begins to purr.

Activities highlighted today: Cooking, family dinners, trying out new recipes, grocery-shopping, shopping for furniture and home appliances, redecorating the home front, investigating ancestry, involvement with charitable undertakings, whatever outlets that allow for the demonstration of our nurturing abilities.

Quote for the day:

“I long, as does every human being, to be at home wherever I find myself.” Maya Angelou

On This Date in history:

On October 29, 1966 the National Organization of Women (NOW) was founded. Traditionalist Saturn was in Pisces, a sign that denotes the downtrodden and disenfranchised elements of a society. Saturn was in a tight opposition to Empowering, Equality-Ruling Uranus in Abilities and Skills Virgo.

With Saturn opposite Uranus, we had a symbolic pitting of “the old” (Saturn) against “the new” (Uranus). Rebel Uranus in Service-Oriented Virgo was perhaps suggesting here that we should “equalize our roles of service,” “level the playing field.” Allow and empower individuals (women) to “serve” in new ways.

Protocol Minded Saturn, in Ego-Denying Pisces, was also possibly generating awareness of how the established rules (Saturn), over the years, had served to imprison and deny (Pisces) free expression (Uranus) to part of the populace.

Venus, ruling women, was in Regenerating Scorpio (redefining women) and exactly square to Expansive Jupiter in Self-Expressive Leo. As an organization, NOW immediately captured the spotlight (Leo) and had major (Jupiter) transformational impact on shaping women’s behavior and self-expression.

With Venus-Jupiter, too, we sometimes “go overboard” or “get carried away” in our desires. Those critical of NOW may say that, that has also been the case, that there has always been too much “zealotry” (Jupiter) with respect to the agenda and leadership (Leo) of the organization.

The Feminine Moon was also in Stabilizing and Steady Taurus, and involved in a Fixed T-Square to both Venus and Jupiter, making for more of an “uncompromising” emotional energy that is not known for “letting go.” Adding perhaps even more resolve and determination to the NOW organization and its operational principles.

“It’s so beautifully arranged on the plate – you know someone’s fingers have been all over it.” Julia Child

COSMIC WEATHER:

The Emotional Moon continues in “The Way To A Man’s Heart Is Through His Stomach” Cancer, until 2:22 pm EDT, at which time it enters “Entertaining Leo,” when we may feel a little like “singing for our supper.” The Leo Moon loves to perform and craves the spotlight of the stage.

Sex Lord Mars and Love Goddess Venus are still serving up hot and spicy entrees in private in the bedroom in “Passionate Lovemaking” Scorpio.

Over-indulgent Jupiter in, “I’ll Have One More For The Road” Pisces, is quinqunx Willful Mars, and trying to bribe him with excess and BS. This is one aspect we do have to keep an eye on. With Mars-Jupiter paired together, we usually tend to “go overboard” in  our beliefs and often act out in wild, fanatical ways. Like maybe going on a hunger strike for 40 days and nights, whatever it takes, in hopes that George Clooney will give us a call.

Meanwhile, Mental Mercury, in Logical Virgo, opposes Clever Uranus, who is sitting next to Jupiter at the bar in “Watering Hole” Pisces. Uranus is goading Mercury to come up with some “original recipes” for burgers to give to the Cancer Moon for today’s tailgate parties.

To be sure, “Mercury opposite Uranus” is a quirky influence that can make our “thoughts erratic” and “speech impulsive.” Because of the rebellious nature of Uranus, we can also be more “intellectually defiant.” Nevertheless, this is an aspect equated with “genius and originality.”

So today is an ideal time to press for “inventive, new solutions” to old problems. Maybe even try a little “‘cherries and whipped cream” on the burger, for a taste that’s refreshingly different. Especially since we also have the creative “Mars-Venus” conjunction in Scorpio, a sign which likes to “re-configure the nature of things.”

“To see things in the seed, that is genius.” Lao Tzu

Personal Note: Below is a photo of my glorious, mangled front yard in the aftermath of this week’s “Sun conjunct Saturn” square to my natal Mars at 7 degrees of Capricorn.

I had a huge, beautiful, red oak tree suddenly fall during a storm, taking parts of three other trees along with it (two maples and a dogwood).  Saturn rules forms and established structures (the trees). Aggressor Mars signifies the ‘Warrior” principle (the missile-like attack on the tree).  With “Mars stressful to Saturn” we often literally, and or symbolically, see “old structures topple” in order to make way for new, positive growth elements in our lives. I was very lucky that no one was hurt and my house was not damaged, to which I’m very thankful. Too, I am really looking forward to having more sunlight in my yard, so there is a “silver lining” to all this.

“Does anyone know anybody with a chain saw?” 🙂

“Sex is good, but not as good as fresh, sweet corn.” Garrsion Keillor

COSMIC WEATHER:

“Health-conscious” Virgo Sun opposes “Over-indulgent” Jupiter and also “You Can’t Force Me To Eat My Vegetables!” Uranus in “Please Don’t Hold Me Accountable” Pisces. Dietary discipline may very much be needed today. Especially with the “Liquor-Friendly” Pisces Moon wanting to substitute tequilas instead of fresh fruit for dessert. Too, with today’s more “unsettled energy” pattern around us now, we may all be wanting a few stiff drinks by the end of the day. (Try breathing slowly and meditatively chanting instead.  Remember, the Moon is still in “mystically-minded” Pisces.)

NEWS UPDATE:

With the Virgo Sun opposing the Jupiter and Uranus conjunction (forcing Equality Issues) in Underdog Pisces today, the U.S. Senate is slated to cast a pivotal vote on the military’s “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” policy. Uranus is usually emphasized when “gay rights” issues come to the forefront, as Uranus embodies “freedom of expression” within the framework of “groups and the collective.”

“When a fantasy turns you on, you’re obligated to God and nature to start doing it right away.” Stewart Brand

COSMIC WEATHER:

Moon continues in Food Source Cancer. Love Goddess Venus trines Imaginary Lover Neptune.

“Sudden Grocery-Store Romance.  It could very well happen today! All the spicy ingredients are there for it to bubble over. Especially in aisle twelve where Mr. Whipple is secretly squeezing the Charmin.

We need to make sure we also take our cell phones with us in the produce department. Eyeing the cucumbers could trigger an urgent call from George Clooney requesting a date with us!

Yes, we’re all a bit delusional again today and being visited by phantom lovers with Venus-Neptune. Still, a girl’s got to dream! Too, it’s just a matter of time before George inevitably comes around. Just a matter of time. You know that, too, don’t you George? You know that you can’t go on forever, carrying on the charade, pretending that you don’t even know we exist. We’re here, George. And, we’re a waiting on you. Although now, we’re in the beer and wine section of the store.  Drowning our sorrows, George.  Drowning our sorrows. Trying to drink you out of our minds. Numbing the pain. The pain of your abandonment, George.”

“Even a caterpillar feels fear before it spins its cocoon.” Kenny Loggins

Cosmic Word Of The Day: Cocoon

Definition: 1) the silky envelope spun by the larvae of many insects 2) any encompassingly protective wrapping or enclosure representing a cocoon

Origin: 1690-1700;  < F Cocon < PR coucoun

Cosmic Weather:

The Universe is, I believe, signaling a “time out.”

The waning Moon is secluded away in mystical Pisces, trying to recuperate from all the recent Full Moon Eclipse hullabaloo.  She is, no doubt, suggesting we do likewise: Retreat to the safety of our comfortable little cocoons and hopefully give thanks for our many blessings.

Thought-Keeper Mercury is also nestled in familial, food-minded Cancer and sextile to Energizer Mars in the health-sign of Virgo.

Joyful immersion in “kitchen karma.” Connecting with family members and loved ones over a hearty, home-cooked meal. Pausing to reflect upon sentimental memories from yesteryear (Mercury in Cancer). That may be just what Dr. Mars has in mind for us today.

“Food, like a loving touch or glimpse of divine power, has the ability to comfort.” Norman Kolpas

Famous July 1st Cancerian Birthdays: Pamela Anderson (42), Princess Diana (would have been 48 today)

Princess Diana quotes on family:

“Family is the most important thing in the world.”

“I live for my sons.  I would be lost without them.”

“I will fight for my children on any level so they can reach their potential as human beings and in their public duties.”

I think Diana would be very proud of how her two sons have grown up, don’t you? They are a shining tribute to their Mother.

Enjoy your Thursday!

Remember to clean up as you go along. Part of “kitchen karma.”
