COSMIC WEATHER:

The Moon continues in “There’s No Place Like Home” Cancer making “Dorothy in Oz” one happy little munchkin. The “Cook-Happy” Cancer Moon also throws harmonious trines to “Good Witch” Jupiter (10:28 am EDT) and “Wizard” Uranus (3:49 pm EDT) in “Fantasy-Prone” Pisces, giving us an itch to perhaps add some dreamy “rainbow sherbet” to the menu, for a change of pace.

Later on, the Moon roars into “Warmhearted” Leo (8:39 pm EDT). Even the “Cowardly Lion” begins to purr.

Activities highlighted today: Cooking, family dinners, trying out new recipes, grocery-shopping, shopping for furniture and home appliances, redecorating the home front, investigating ancestry, involvement with charitable undertakings, whatever outlets that allow for the demonstration of our nurturing abilities.

Quote for the day:

“I long, as does every human being, to be at home wherever I find myself.” Maya Angelou

On This Date in history:

On October 29, 1966 the National Organization of Women (NOW) was founded. Traditionalist Saturn was in Pisces, a sign that denotes the downtrodden and disenfranchised elements of a society. Saturn was in a tight opposition to Empowering, Equality-Ruling Uranus in Abilities and Skills Virgo.

With Saturn opposite Uranus, we had a symbolic pitting of “the old” (Saturn) against “the new” (Uranus). Rebel Uranus in Service-Oriented Virgo was perhaps suggesting here that we should “equalize our roles of service,” “level the playing field.” Allow and empower individuals (women) to “serve” in new ways.

Protocol Minded Saturn, in Ego-Denying Pisces, was also possibly generating awareness of how the established rules (Saturn), over the years, had served to imprison and deny (Pisces) free expression (Uranus) to part of the populace.

Venus, ruling women, was in Regenerating Scorpio (redefining women) and exactly square to Expansive Jupiter in Self-Expressive Leo. As an organization, NOW immediately captured the spotlight (Leo) and had major (Jupiter) transformational impact on shaping women’s behavior and self-expression.

With Venus-Jupiter, too, we sometimes “go overboard” or “get carried away” in our desires. Those critical of NOW may say that, that has also been the case, that there has always been too much “zealotry” (Jupiter) with respect to the agenda and leadership (Leo) of the organization.

The Feminine Moon was also in Stabilizing and Steady Taurus, and involved in a Fixed T-Square to both Venus and Jupiter, making for more of an “uncompromising” emotional energy that is not known for “letting go.” Adding perhaps even more resolve and determination to the NOW organization and its operational principles.

“In the womb we are blind cave fish.” Jim Morrison

“Cosmic Word of The Day”: Womb

Definition: 1) the uterus of the female and certain higher mammals 2) the place in which anything is formed or produced 3)the interior of anything 4) Obsolete . the belly

Origin: bef. 900 ME, OE: belly, womb; c. D wam, G wamme; Goth wamba belly; cf wamus

COSMIC WEATHER:

Extended forecast here.

A very big day on tap!

Powerful cosmic influences at play.

First off, we have Mental Mercury in Creative, Entertaining Leo exactly trining Expansive, Optimistic Jupiter in “Self-Discovery” Aries. This is a very favorable communication influence and a HUGE aspect for summoning forth and unleashing our personal talents and gifts. New doors could suddenly open up for us as a result of showcasing our unique abilities.

With Mercury-Jupiter, we are also better able to see the “big picture” (Jupiter), as well as agreeably solve situations that may have previously been at an impasse.

Also, our self-confidence soars as does our ability to speak convincingly with authority.

Historically, on a collective level, Mercury-Jupiter has often correlated with major advancements in communication and transportation. It’s also great for diplomatic efforts.

For example, CNN was launched with Mercury-Jupiter.  The Charles DeGaulle Airport opened under this influence. Jupiter also rules the law and courts and with “Decision-Maker” Mercury conjunct “Protective” Jupiter the Supreme Court ruled in favor of Miranda Rights. Also, the Iranian hostages were released in 1981 the day Mercury was trine Jupiter.

Secondly, we have Pioneering, Energetic Mars in the Health and Work Sign of Virgo, harmoniously and exactly sextiling the Sun (Solar Eclipse). Sun-Mars is all about taking action, bold action. Sun-Mars days are always B-I-G for discoveries and blazing new trails. Generally a key time when we can really “leap forward,” both individually and collectively.

Mars, in the sign of Virgo, especially favors health research and medical breakthroughs, as well as any type of endeavor that involves intricate investigation and thorough attention to detail.

This Sun-Mars aspect has already been building for a few days. We also did hear, earlier this week, about positive movement towards an HIV vaccination. (The Jupiter-Uranus conjunction in discovery Aries square to Pluto, which rules research and sexually transmitted diseases, may have also figured in prominently here.)

The Sun-Mars energy will linger for a few more days. It is a potentially positive influence, too, for the delicate placement of the new cap on the BP oil pipe.

Too, if you’re looking for a job, now is a propitious time to do so, as Virgo does rule work and Sun-Mars rules fresh starts. Also, it’s a favorable time for implementing a new positive health regimen (Virgo).

Thirdly. We have the Major New Moon Solar Eclipse at 19 degrees of maternal, familial Cancer (at 3:41 pm EDT.) New Moons are always times for new beginnings and the Eclipse only magnifies the impact and magnitude of them.

With this Eclipse taking place in the home and family sign of Cancer, I believe we are feeling a strong need and desire to return to our past, our roots, specifically the womb, so as to better integrate the past with the present.

Of course, logistically I know this desire to revisit the womb could pose horrendous physical challenges, as most of us are now full-grown adults with weight issues.  Plus many of us also have families of our own.

This whole regression matter could really get very complicated, the more I think about it.  Especially in situations in which our moms have already transitioned to the other side.

However, despite everything, I have compiled an urgent, “top ten list” for the “powers that be,” of why we should be allowed to gain re-entry into the womb, ASAP:

10) Free room and board, even though the “view” is rather limited.

9) We can swim around all day in the nude.

8)  No need for sunscreen.

7 ) Don’t have to worry about “wardrobe malfunctions.”

6) No need for expensive plastic surgery or liposuction.

5) Don’t have to pay taxes.

4) We can suck our thumbs whenever we want.

3) No housework – although I’ll personally miss the more creative aspects of vacuuming.

2) We can perfect our kickboxing technique.

And the number one reason we must gain re-entry into the womb immediately:

1) We figure it’s a pretty safe haven from Sarah Palin. At least for now.

“What’s the difference between a pit bull and a hockey mom? Lipstick.” Sarah Palin

Famous July 11th Cancerian Birthdays: David Henrie (21) “Octomom” Nadya Suleman (35).  Boy, does she ever fit in here today! Hers may be the most celebrated womb in the world! But, I’m wondering, “How the heck are all her offspring going to fit back into it?”

Enjoy your Sunday!

I promise, I won’t tell Sarah Palin which womb you’re in, if she calls. (Love ya’, Sarah! Mama Grizzly!)

Patricia’s Daily Astrology Horoscope July 7, 2010: Rich Relatives

“I don’t care how poor a man is; if he has family, he’s rich.” Dan Wilcox and Thad Mumford

“Cosmic Word of The Day”: Rich

Definition: 1) having wealth or great possessions; abundantly supplied with resources, means, or funds; wealthy 2) of great value or worth; valuable; a rich harvest

Origin: before 900; ME; OE rice (adj.) << Celtic; c. G reich wealthy; akin to L rex, Skt rajan king

COSMIC WEATHER:

Very old, rich relatives.

We’re wondering if we maybe have any that we don’t know about.

But, how do we contact them and quickly make their acquaintance?

Before it’s too late.

That’s part of what’s weighing on our minds today, at the very deepest, internal, cellular level of our beings, as we go into Day Two of the “Money-Hungry” Taurus Moon.

We have very cool cosmic energy, for the next few days, for checking out our genealogy, and matters of our familial past, both individually and collectively.  All these areas are astrologically noted by Cancer the Crab, the official zodiacal sign of  home and family.

The steady Taurus Moon is deftly honing in on this sentimental Cancerian energy. The maternal Moon’s rays are also well-supported by energetic Mars in investigative Virgo coming into a positive 60 degree relationship with the paternal Cancerian Sun.

Young Child, and Sensitive Thought-Keeper Mercury, is also in homebody Cancer and applying to a keen sextile to nostalgic “Father Time” Saturn, who is now meticulously tucked away at the very end of chaste and pure Virgo, quietly spending his days looking at old family photo albums, while simultaneously reflecting, “Where has all the time gone?”

Additionally, Sunday’s powerful Solar eclipse is intensely steeped in the parameters of the past, falling as it does at 20 degrees of Cancer.

It seems rather fitting that such a potent figure from the past, Queen Elizabeth II, who is a gracious, elegant Taurus native and a notable member of the upper crust, as part of the British Royal Family, should pay a short, but celebrated visit to America in the midst of all this very rich, Taurus-Cancerian cosmic energy.

“Like all the best families, we have our share of eccentricities, of impetuous and wayward youngsters and of family disagreements.” Queen Elizabeth II.

Famous Cancerian Birthdays July 7th: Michelle Kwan (29), Ringo Starr (70)

“What greater thing is there for human souls than to feel that they are joined for life – to be with each other in silent unspeakable memories.” George Eliot.

For many of us, The Beatles sort of feel like part of our extended family. Their enduring music has almost always been there for us, forming a supportive and protective backdrop for our daily lives. They’re part of our rich family legacy of collective, Cancerian memories.

Happy Birthday, Ringo! May you have many more. Both you and Paul. Peace and love!

Enjoy your Wednesday, everybody!

Let me know how you make out digging up that rich family tree.

COSMIC WEATHER:

There’s no place like home.  There’s no place like home.

But, where is home, our true home? Our point of origin?

With the reflective Moon meditatively chanting in Divine Pisces and Thought-Enabler Mercury, in the home and ancestry sign of Cancer, and in close dialogue with Energizer Mars in analytical Virgo, we’re thinking existentially about our roots today. Our source. Our origin. An immigration issue, in the truest sense, similar to what President Obama spoke about yesterday.

I guess, the biggest concern here is, will our Original Source even take us back?  Or, have the old homestead borders already been sealed off? In which case, is there a way to sneak in without incurring additional karmic debt?

Famous Cancerian Birthdays July 2nd: Lindsay Lohan (23), Jose Canseco (45)

Enjoy your Friday!

Let’s make a pact today: Whoever leaves here first must phone home with details. Specifically, whether there’s still occupancy and, if so, how can one go about procuring a cozy spot with a view?
