“The only way to change is by changing your understanding.” Anthony De Mello.
Today is one of those days when we may have plenty of “Aha Moments” or sudden breakthroughs in awareness and self-understanding (Mercury trine Pluto). We solve puzzles, mysteries, ferret out secrets, discover hiding places, have communications with others that are profoundly moving, even possibly life-changing. We need to pay special attention to our thoughts now as the universe may be sending us important clues about our “higher mission.” We must be still and listen within. Mercury with Pluto can be B-I-G. Powerful Pluto also goes retrograde today. (Pluto brings about extremes in behavior and nature, along with the aforementioned turning points).
We can also make practical progress toward our goals on a material level. There could be a new development on the career front that gives us an opportunity to do something that we have not done before or there may be a chance to take an existing project to a new level that is more personally fulfilling.
Regarding romance, our mood is more practical, subdued. We are less impressed by surface gestures. We are looking for meaningful commitment.
(This update: With the Mercury trine Pluto energy already starting to apply, President Obama announced Monday that he was going to drastically “overhaul” conditions under which the U.S. would use nuclear weapons. This is a significant story, astrologically, as Pluto governs nuclear weapons. Mercury also rules the news. The announcement of this new policy also came on the heels of Pluto turning retrograde. Additionally, Pluto rules “revamping strategies.”)
Memorable events in history on this date: April 6, 1980 – “Post-It Notes” are introduced. The planet Venus (indicating what we love) had just moved into Gemini, the correspondence sign, that rules notes and messages. No doubt, millions of us also immediately “fell in love” with these handy notes when they debuted. Also on that same date, lucky Jupiter, had just entered the meticulous sign of Virgo, which rules organization. Wherever Jupiter transits, he generates growth and opportunities for the activities associated with that sign.
“The secret of all victory lies in the organization of the non-obvious.” Marcus Aurelius.
April 6, 1917 – The U.S. declares war on Germany, enters World War I. There were four planets in Aries that day including powerful Mars which rules that sign (Aries and Mars rule war and the military). When there is a preponderance of planets in a sign, the issues of that sign generally become more pronounced. Perennially with Aries, we are more conquest-driven and adventurous.
Also on that date, Mercury, governing thinking and decisions, was exactly square (stressful) to sobering Saturn in Cancer. Mercury-Saturn denotes a more “serious mindset” and decisions that are made then are weighed very carefully and often anchored in security issues, as Saturn rules security and safety mattters.
Cancer also rules the home. Saturn’s passage through Cancer (representing the homeland) can create a more defensive stance in wanting to protect it. Rebel Uranus, too, was in a quinqunx (stressful) aspect to Saturn, at the time, creating fear and concern that the safe structures built up would be overthrown (Uranus).
“War would end if the dead could return.” Stanley Baldwin.
Peace and love, everyone. Enjoy your Tuesday!
