“Books let us into their souls and lay open to us the secrets of our own.” William Hazlitt

With the agreeable Moon still eager to cavort around like a social butterfly in Libra today, it may work to our advantage to follow her merry pace and mingle with others. Libra is the sign of partnerships and relationships. The Moon’s perennial mission here is to teach us about the value and purpose of reaching out and embracing shared experiences versus going it alone.

Relationships, too, are pivotal to our survival. If we all ceased interacting with each other, it would eventually be lights out for all of us. That is the point that the Moon in Libra tries to tirelessly point out to us here, as she darts breathlessly from party to party, beau to beau.

What’s also very noteworthy here today in the romance department is Venus, the love diva herself and also the ruler of Libra, meets up with the ever-unpredictable Uranus.  With Venus and Uranus, anything can happen.   There can be unexpected discoveries, new-found  pleasures, electrifying moments.

Overall today, we are more in the mood for experiences that are out of the ordinary, thanks in large part to Venus and Uranus.  This desire for novelty can also permeate our general activities and is not restricted to only affairs of the heart.

The Moon goes void of course in Libra at 3:43 pm ET and stays in that mode until 9:11 pm ET when it enters Scorpio.  While it is void of cause, it is best to wrap up loose ends instead of initiating any new projects.

Meanwhile, the Moon’s entrance into Scorpio punctuates the air tonight with emotional intensity, drama and passion.

Today’s memorable event in history is actually taking place today, March 3, 2010: It’s “World Read Aloud Day.”

This is a global event created by LitWorld to promote community bonding by reading aloud together. This event is designed to bring attention to the importance of literacy in human development.  Wouldn’t it be wonderful if everyone in the world could read and write?

Personally, I think this is such a great event and so exciting.  It also is an example of all the present planetary energy operating at its best.

We currently have the Sun, Mercury, Venus, Jupiter and Uranus all in compassionate Pisces, a sign when it is at its highest expression is indicative of a selfless, more divine love, in which we are more concerned with the needs of our neighbors than the needs of ourselves.

Pisces ideally represents the erosion of all boundaries between us,  and fosters endless caring for each other, particularly for those persons who may be down on their luck and disillusioned or disadvantaged for various reasons.

Pisces is also an extremely imaginative and creative sign. Today’s Venus and Uranus conjunction in Pisces is a perfect planetary aspect to have for an event of this nature to be taking place as Venus and Uranus arouses within us a clamoring and excitement to want to do something different and fun together, and in Pisces, meaningful at the same time, which today’s event is surely designed to be.

In astrology, Mercury also rules literacy: speaking, reading and writing.  Today it is applying to a powerful sextile to transforming Pluto. This influence makes it an ideal time to bring an awareness of,  and simultaneously celebrate literacy, especially with young children, coupled with the hope that this event can maybe change or transform their worlds permanently. Pluto is also about discovery and linked to Mercury, there’s nothing more exciting than the discovery of words – and reading aloud together! Pluto also rules the global masses.

Peace and love, everyone!  Enjoy your day!
