The PGA Tour announced today on Twitter that professional golfer, Tiger Woods, plans to make a statement at 11:00 am ET Friday from PGA tour Headquarters in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida. Fox News Network is also reporting that Woods plans to apologize tomorrow for his behavior and talk about his future.

Tiger Woods was born on December 30, 1975 at 10:50 pm in Long Beach, California.  According to that birth information, he is picking a more propitious time to make such a public statement, from an astrological perspective.  He has both the transiting Venus and Jupiter, in the healing and rehabilitative sign of Pisces now, in a very harmonious sextile aspect  to his birth chart Capricorn Sun, which rules his status and stature.

In astrology, Venus is regarded as the planet of love.  It rules our relationships and personal power of attraction.  It additionally has a soothing, redemptive quality to it.

When we have harmonious Venus transits, such as Tiger Woods does now and will have Friday, we are usually more able to enlist others to rally behind our cause.  Our personal popularity is often enhanced, due to the magnetic love  energy of Venus. To what extent Tiger Woods will ever be able to revive or revitalize his image, of course, remains to be seen.  But, at least his coming forward now, coinciding with the positive Venus aspects in his chart, is a step in the right direction, at least viewed from an astrology standpoint.

Jupiter, meanwhile, is considered to be the planet of  luck and prosperity.  It has a very expansive, as well as a protective nature to it.  On another level, Jupiter also has to do with publicity and promotion, as the ruler of Sagittarius.

Presently Venus and Jupiter are conjoined in the compassionate sign of Pisces for the first time since 1998.  This configuration is generally deemed to be lucky, and in the sign of Pisces, it can additionally be very healing. This is because Pisces, ruled by Neptune, is a very spiritual sign that is associated with self-renewal.  Pisces  rules addictions, addictive behavior, and rehabilitative treatment for addictions.  It additionally rules places of confinement, shelters, and treatment centers.

The last time Jupiter and Venus were together in Pisces in 1998, the very day their influence was exact, was when Disney opened “Animal Kingdom” in Florida.  Pisces again rules places of shelter and confinement, such as zoos. Today, “Animal Kingdom” is the largest animal preservation complex in the world, which is what you would expect with Jupiter’s involvement here, astrologically, as Jupiter tends to do everything on a grand scale and connected with Venus again, it can be especially fortuitous.

The last couple days I have been blogging here in depth about Venus and Jupiter in Pisces and the potential healing impact that influence can have in both our personal and collective worlds.  Earlier today, I also wrote in my daily astrology forecast, about Pope Benedict’s meeting this week with Irish Bishops as part of the Sex Abuse Summit.  Like Tiger, the pope picked a good time, astrologically, to take up such a matter, due to the Venus Jupiter pervasive energies, as well as positive transforming energies now from Pluto, which has to do with hidden sex abuse.

Also, as I mentioned in my astrology blog this morning, Neptune is exactly conjunct Chiron today and that configurations is ripe with healing implications as well.  In astrology, Chiron symbolizes the “Wounded Warrior.”  Spiritual Neptune, meanwhile, is also known as the “Great Dissolver.”  The Neptune Chiron conjunction is regarded, by many astrologers, as a time when we are potentially able to heal or dissolve our deep personal and collective wounds.  So Tiger coming forward today to announce that he was going to be making a statement, probably in an attempt to heal his image, is very fitting from a cosmic perspective.

I have also written about Tiger Woods’ horoscope at length in my previous blogs, about the particular astrological influences he has had in his chart since that car accident late last November, so I am not going to be retracing any of that here.

At any rate, it will be interesting to see what Tiger Woods has to say Friday.  It’s all up to him at this point what will happen to him, in terms of his destiny and long-term public image.  At least, astrologically, he has selected about the best possible aspects he could have for his public statement, in wake of his personal situation.  We wish him the best.
