Benevolent Jupiter, with its infinite wisdom, entered the astrological sign of Pisces the Fish, January 17, 2010…He’ll be sailing through Pisces at a rather fast clip… moving into Aries, June 6th through September 10th,…and then retrograding back into Pisces until January 22, 2011.

Wherever Jupiter goes by sign, he generates opportunities for us… and naturally expands upon the particular activities associated with a  sign…I like to think of Jupiter as an expandable balloon…He takes what is limp… and makes it come back to life again… with renewed hope…He’s the enthusiastic personification of the “can-do” spirit.

We all need Jupiter in our daily lives…as he inspires us…and gives us the magical desire… to chase our dreams…When we stop pursuing our dreams..our hearts stop beating…  Jupiter keeps our hearts and spirits pumping.

Jupiter rules Sagittarius…which governs philosophy, religion and teaching… Jupiter eagerly preaches to us… to always keep our eyes fixed on the stars above …especially the Big Dipper… and to never turn back with despair.

Of course, like a balloon popping from too much hot air in it…Jupiter can go to excesses…  Usually by nature, though, he’s very well-intentioned…It’s  best  if we can balance out Jupiter’s optimistic, bow-and-arrow, with some gravity from serious Saturn…so Jupiter has some boundaries.

Neptune-ruled Pisces governs the sea and anything connected to it… It’s the twelfth or last sign of the zodiac… and associated with the bottom part of the body, the feet…Our feet support our whole bodies …and transport us around…which is astrologically fitting… symbolically… as Pisces is a catchall and end-zone for all the previous signs’ experience.

Pisces is a very spiritual and mystical sign, due to Neptune’s influence…  It yearns for what lies beyond the mundane earth plane…it’s ready to submerge itself into deeper waters…The symbolism of the sea is very important to understanding the natural-orientation and mindset of Pisces.

Pisces as a form of consciousness… is very compassionate, feeling-oriented, and intuitive…It always needs to check the temperature of the water, before diving in…Pisces natives tend to rely on their gut-feelings, over logic…They can also be secretive and hidden, like the little fishes in the sea… When we approach them, they may suddenly swim away.

We can often find them, however, at these common Neptune-ruled hang-outs:  Their favorite watering-holes and dance clubs…ice-skating rinks…the movies…plays…any performing arts events…Neptune governs bars, drugs, alcohol,  music, songwriting, poetry, film, photography and acting…And, of course, we also find Pisces people by the water…engaging in various aquatic activities… swimming.. scuba-diving… or maybe shell-hunting… or fishing…building fairy-tale castles in the sand.

They could also be meditating or praying in a Neptune-ruled temple or church…Natives of this sign..due to their natural compassion and sympathy for others…particularly the down-trodden and needy… volunteer in soup-kitchens…help out at homeless shelters..charity-fundraisers…  They  are caregivers for the sick…Neptune rules hospitals, and also doctors and nurses, any places of confinement,  including prisons, animal shelters.

A Pisces person on a lonely, dark path…who no longer believes in himself…or the light of the stars…could be holed up in a crack house…or sequestered away in a dreary, lifeless prison.

I think a big part of Jupiter’s message for us in Pisces is really very simple:  That we need to quietly go inside ourselves and take time to renew our energies and repair those parts of  ourselves that are broken.. or  that are no longer working for us effectively… so that we can be of better service to ourselves… and to each other… and continue on in a more productive way with our unique life purposes.   In Pisces, too, there are many ways to carry out self-renewal and rebuilding, as I alluded to above, that Jupiter can help us with here.

For example, we can visit the ocean, a lake, or a simple, small pond in our backyards… and immerse ourselves in the rejuvenating water … as it washes away and cleanses the impurities and negative energy that has crystallized and formed on our dead, Saturn-ruled skin…We can also go to swimming pools…maybe take swimming or scuba-diving lessons… take more warm bubble-baths…showers…go for walks in the gentle rain…without our umbrellas…whatever we can do to empty ourselves of the worries and troubles inside ourselves…Letting them go and giving them back to God or a Higher Power…Filling our physical vessels with new, revitalizing, spiritual water…which is ours for the asking…Meditation and prayer also falls under the domain of Neptune and Pisces…We could maybe sign up for a meditation class…or start incorporating prayer and church-related activities more into our schedules.

Remember, too…our bodies are about 80% water…We need to frequently flush out our systems by drinking more water…Most medical experts say to drink at least six to eight glasses daily…We can also enjoy calming and soothing herbal teas with honey… red wine with our meals…or perhaps before bedtime to help us sleep better…We can have a recuperative beer or two with our friends…whatever we can do to reclaim our souls in a positive, supportive way for ourselves, is what we should be focusing on now.

When we’re at the sea or lake, too…we need to take time to simply gaze upon it…Go out in boats or inflatable floats and feel the sea’s currents guiding us along…Be refreshed by the ocean air… Take in an awe-inspiring sunrise…or a magnificent sunset..and see how it makes us feel…Does it calm our spirit…and maybe make us more wondrous of our special place in the universe?…We can walk upon the shore…let our feet delight from the gentle caress of the water…Bury our feet in the sand…let it repair and soothe the rough, cracked skin…on the soles of our feet…Proper foot care is very important…as our feet do so much for us…we need to  lovingly care  for them… and show them our appreciation and fondness…by wearing comfortable shoes or sandals.

Jupiter’s passage through Pisces may result in more comfortable or supportive shoes being made for all of us…Could be… too… with big Jupiter here… in the sign of the feet… that shoe sizes will get larger… or wider… or both… or that larger and wider shoes could be more readily available in stores…or in more stores… especially larger shoes for women, in which there presently is  more of a shortage at many traditional shoe stores…There may also be healthier kinds of socks or hose created… in which our feet can move and breathe easier… In general, there could an expanded range of foot-care product offerings, due to Jupiter’s expansive influence…Or, perhaps the inspiration for these products will come into being now and manifest down the road…Or, there could be major medical and or surgical breakthroughs for the feet…Perhaps it may even be time to look at foot-care stocks and shoe-related stocks as investments…as Jupiter… with its’ growth orientation… can be a prosperous influence for the things connected to the sign it is traveling through.

At any rate, we must  treat our feet royally…Pamper them with pedicures, foot massages…If we can’t afford those services professionally…we can do these things ourselves inexpensively at home… With Neptune’s artistic and creative influence here, too…we may also want to show off our feet more often in public… by wearing more alluring and eye-appealing footwear…Or, maybe painting our toe nails different colors…or wearing foot jewelry…or simply running around barefoot everywhere…We need to be proud of our feet…as they are so very proud of us…They are among our best friends…and take us everywhere we want to go.

Cosmetics and make-up are also ruled by Neptune…Maybe we should experiment with these things, too, this year, for a whole new look to our appearances…Show the world an imaginative new side to us that dazzles…With Jupiter here, as well…we should expect exciting new things happening in the world of cosmetics and beauty-treatment products…Maybe they will become even more environmentally friendly and safer for us….Could be,too, that it’s time to become an Avon or Mary Kay sales representative!

Additionally, pharmacies and pharmaceuticals, prescription drugs, illicit drugs…are all Neptune ruled.  There could be big beneficial drug discoveries this year improving quality of our lives…by reducing our pain and suffering…Medical-marijuana could perhaps be legalized in more states.

Another fitting and enjoyable thing we can do with Jupiter now in the sign of camera-loving Pisces is to get our family members together… and sit down with them… and go through our old photo albums, page by page, together…Sharing some smiles and reveling in the memories of perhaps our younger days…Gazing with misty eyes… upon the precious photos of those loved ones, pets, and friends… who are no longer here with us, in the flesh, but always so very much alive in our hearts, and  in our spirits…Recounting their grand and unique special purposes and meanings in our lives…We can also get old photos framed…as well as make new photos with our loved ones …celebrating today’s adventures…Giving  photos or photo frames as gifts…putting more meaningful pictures in our emails to our friends… or on Facebook…Things we can do now that don’t cost much money but can have lasting impact in the future… as we build ourselves a rich and lasting legacy of relationships and memories…life’s greatest treasures.

Also, we can go to Neptune’s movie-houses… or to movie-channels at home…and pay homage to all the great films and motion pictures that have ever been made…Giving thanks to the great stars of yesteryear, as well as today…Being thankful we still have some of the great cinematic legends among us…especially the very beautiful and talented actress,  Elizabeth Taylor, who is also a Pisces…Who in her deep, Neptunian-compassion… has devoted so many years of her life to helping those afflicted with the cruel disease of AIDS…She’s a perfect and loving metaphor for the Pisces spirit, both on stage and off…We can watch her old films,  too… and fall in love with her magnificence all over again…Loving and caring…that’s what life’s all about… and believing in make-believe till it comes true…and making the seemingly impossible…possible…That’s Jupiter’s promise for each of us through Pisces.

Great future film-makers and producers… are likely incarnating on earth now …as Jupiter generously spreads his abundant gifts and vast inspiration through this immensely creative sign…Movies are also not just an escape for us…although that is a very positive and noteworthy outcome on its own… Films can help serve to temporarily relieve the  burdens and stresses of our everyday worlds…On a deeper level, a wonderful film is truly a celebration of all that’s creative, spiritual, and mystical inside each of us…We reach into the depths of our souls and beings when we make a stirring, emotionally packed film…We become co-creators with the universe…projecting visions on to a screen…unleashing our boundless imaginations…Films can also  do so much to help heal us and grow us together in spirit….A powerful movie can dramatically impact behavior… and band us together as a culture…and catapult us as a society to new heights.

More and more of us are also now making our own personal films and videos… and putting them on the internet..thanks in part to Neptune the Photographer’s creative passage through technologically gifted Aquarius…We are becoming more seasoned at being able to tune into the creative Neptune force within each of us…Jupiter in Pisces is strongly encouraging us to keep at it…to keep developing ourselves in these areas…Exciting and important new movies will surely be made this year…powerful screenplays will be written…We should also consider… as a culture and government…about doing things that will foster the creation of even more independent films and motion-pictures now.

Words, too, by themselves… can paint transforming pictures…especially under Neptune’s ray…So many poets, screenwriters, songwriters, have Neptune or Pisces prominent in their charts…We may want to try tapping into the  poets or songwriters that are secretly locked away inside of  each of us now…that we maybe never even knew existed…Or, at least we may want to  read and avail ourselves of many of the great books of poetry… or inspirational writing.

Also, we need to keep  daily journals of  our nightly dreams, again an area of Neptune’s rule…Our dreams… our own powerful imaginations running rampant in our physical bodies… are our spirits or our higher selves speaking directly to us..gently knocking on our hearts and consciousness…When we start routinely writing down our dreams …we begin tapping into this waterfall of spirit that is always flowing inside ourselves…We must first make time for it, though, and seek it out…before we can   begin to use it to our full advantage.

Also , this year, we may want to try visiting more art galleries…become better acquainted with the great painters and sculptors of the world…and their works, past and present…Feast our eyes on the end products of their imaginations…Simultaneously knowing that we, too, have buried deep inside ourselves…all the  very same stuff and chemistry to make our inner visions take shape in the real world…We just have to believe and patiently cultivate all that’s inside each of us… and believe that it exists in the first place…and it does…Jupiter can vouch for it… and he’s here to help us manifest it along the way.

We may also want to invest in more  sea-related artwork or adopt a more nautical Pisces decor  for our homes now…If we can’t make it to the sea this year …bring the sea and beach home to us…Decorate our walls and ceilings with the soothing color palettes of the ocean and sand…Buy aquariums…and befriend some fishes…Put shells around in bowls on our tables…Make seashell jewelry to wear for ourselves… or to give as gifts to friends…Make our bathrooms more cozy and inviting…so we’ll want to take more leisurely baths there…Instead of reading in a reclining chair…we can read in a soothing bathtub…with a glass of wine or champagne… or maybe restorative herbal tea.

Renewing ourselves..believing in ourselves..believing in miracles…believing that our prayers will be heard and answered…filling ourselves with marvelous, new hope and colorful, rich, unbounded imagination and faith… Reflecting on hope… Being a shining beacon of hope for ourselves… and for others…and for all the helpless loving animals, wildlife, and fishes on the planets that  depend on us…Shining for them… caring for them…Helping to do all that we can to save our water… to save our planet from dying… Adopting thoughtful politics and actions to help make this a reality… Making time and taking time… to give back to the communities and the world where we live…Donating  to charitable causes…giving to those survivors desperately hurting in Haiti…Supporting and pushing for medical discoveries…stem-cell research…Finding a loving new home for a stray dog or cat…Adoping a homeless pet…Feeding the sparrows… Comforting those who are sick or dying…helping them to emotionally heal… and doing what we can for them to help lessen their pains in any way…I believe that’s what Jupiter’s joyous, unselfish, compassionate message to  us in Pisces, is all about…As he points his ever-optimistic, spell-binding arrow to the stars…from his mighty Watch Tower below… at the foot and gateway… of the always-beckoning… and mysteriously healing… tender Pisces Sea…
