“The voyage of discovery is not in seeking new landscapes but in having new eyes.” Marcel Proust.

The Moon’s entry into penetrating Scorpio (8:41 am EDT) arouses our deepest emotions and feelings and spawns a voracious desire for new discoveries, especially for delving into issues that have previously been hidden. “Seek and you shall find” may take on special meaning for those of us on an exploratory quest. Mercury’s sextile to spiritual Neptune also aids here as it opens up a formidable bridge to more transcendent realms of knowledge.

Goddess of Love Venus expectantly takes up luxurious residency in sensual Taurus today (1:35 pm EDT), fondly bidding farewell to impetuous Aries.  Venus will be here until April 25th. In Taurus, the Venusian love urge is steadfast and the dream is constant for a singular “everlasting love.” Although, a quinqunx (stress influence) from restrictive Saturn to Venus may temporarily put this dream on the back burner today.

“We are never so helplessly unhappy as when we lose love.” Sigmund Freud.

Famous Aries Persons Born this Day: Al Gore, Richard Chamberlain, Michael Savage, DMC

Memorable event in history on this date: March 31, 1980 – President Jimmy Carter “de-regulated” the banking industry.   Interestingly, Uranus, the planet we naturally equate with change and freedom (fewer restrictions) was in the sign of Scorpio at the time, which is the sign that rules investment banking, loans and credit.  Uranus’s placement here would surely seem to have been a viable catalyst or primer for a desire to have less regulation. (Uranus moves through a sign every 7 years and had been in Scorpio already 5 years when this de-regulation occurred, so during those years, it was gradually laying the foundation for this change to occur.)

Also, on that particular date, the planet Venus (which rules money), was in the “money-ruling” sign of Taurus, at 25 degrees, exactly opposite Uranus at 25 Scorpio. Oppositions often bring about a climax or turning point in a situation. Additionally, pioneering Mars, which rules action, was exactly “square” to both Venus and Uranus, an alignment that also helped to “force the issue,” so to speak.  Mars-Uranus aspects, too, typically coincide with the unveiling of “big changes” with sometimes significant “disruptive” consequences due to their “sweeping nature.”

Peace and love, everyone. Enjoy your day!
